The muscular system is very important in cosmetology because muscles produce movement through contraction and expansion. Cometologist is primarily concerned with the voluntary muscles of the head, face, neck, arms and hands. As a stylist you will perform scalp and neck massages or facials. General massage techniques to the neck and scalp can be done during shampooing a client because muscles affected by massage are generally manipulated from the insertion attachment to the origin attachment. This is just an example of how the muscular system plays a important part in cosmetology.
