If you mean that there is only a very small amount of skin that the jewelry passes through, it was likely pierced too shallow and will either reject (the body will push it out through the skin like a thorn) or it will simply never heal properly. I would suggest seeking the opinion of another, preferably more reputable, piercer.
If you mean there is only a small area for the jewelry to rest in, as in you have a small belly button, it would be best to consult a professional piercer to find out if you are suited to the piercing.
Why would you put grease on it? Its a bad idea because it doesnt let the piercing breathe at all. So don't put any grease on it.
yes. just soak it with a saline solution to remove it. DON'T pick at the scab.
Navel piercing that are a year old are considered "seasoned" and can go without jewellery for any where from a day to several days. Removing the jewellery from an "unseasoned" piercing can lead to loss of the piercing and undue trauma to the newly forming tissue that makes up the piercing.
Do you mean a new belly button piercing? Wearing dressing is more of a precaution of getting it snagged than anything else. You could try an eye patch and just tape it down. Or even use bandaids. Just clean it properly and regularly and you'll be fine.
NO ABSOLUTELY NOT. You never want to use peroxide or alcohol on a piercing. Sea Salt Soaks are ideal.
Is it dead skin or dried discharge, if you have questions about how your piercing is healing you should go back and see your piercer for assistance.

Well i think you would but some tape over the piercing (like masking tape) that's what my friends did when they couldn't take them out when they were doing sport.
yes, they leave a small dimple where the piercing was. it will be there the rest of your life, but wont be very noticeable if it was done when your young, if pierced when your older it will leave a larger mark, simply because the skin isn't as elastic.
Yes. Depending on where your ear is pierced, your hair could get caught on it so you want to be careful about that but you do not need to worry about hair and water touching it. Clean the piercing as you are instructed after you shower or after it contacts water. If it is freshly pierced, you may wish to avoid bodies of water such as pools and oceans for a few weeks so as not to irritate the piercing. http://www.bmezine.com/pierce/articles/ptafter/ear.html
Yes just make sure you have no earrings onOn the contrary - it is important to keep earrings in your newly pierced ears. Health professionals recommend constantly keeping your earrings in for around 6 weeks while the healing takes place. Trying to reinsert an earring into a newly pierced ear if you take it out can cause tearing, bleeding and other damage. The only circumstances under which you should remove earrings from a new piercing is if the area shows signs of infection.
There is no strict rule, but from experience, I say the ear on the side of your head you don't sleep on, as rubbing a newly pierced ear on a pillow ect. will make it sore :)
