Depends on how long ago you fed your animal, if you fed an hour ago its ok to give the insulin, you must watch how close the insulin shots are, usually they are 12 hrs apart on Humulin NPH. If you fed 6 hrs ago, I would give 1/2 of the dosage. go to http://p092.ezboard.com/fpetswithdiabetescaninediabetes
there is nothing you can do, just keep a close eye on your pet, when you say too much, do you mean 1 or 2 units or more? If more than call your vet ASAP and find out what to do, your pet may act drunk or wobble, keep it quiet, and do give give any more until your vet tells you what to do.
Your vet may want you to counter the insulin with sugarwater or honey
If you have a diabetic animal in the house, there is a propietary product called Glucagon to counteract an insulin overdose. Please discuss this with your vet.
If it has affected the animal, give the animal something sweet to eat. Not chocolate.Maybe some sugar water.
Call your vet. Tell how much your dog weighs and how much you gave it. Take the vet's advice.
if someone has diabetes, that means that their pancreas has stopped working. Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas, and if his/her pancreas has stopped working than that is what they need. They make the fake Insulin using Insulin from the dog. They only use a certain dog, but I do not know which type, sorry.
Take it to the vet right away.
So long as the bottle is intact, the insulin inside it will still be effective.
Only give your dog sulfamethoxazole if the vet gave you a perscription(this is the only way you can get it),
Call a vet immediately.
A blood glucose curve is performed on a dog by measuring the blood glucose early in the morning, then feeding the dog and administering insulin. The blood glucose is then measured every 2 hours. If the dog is recieving insulin twice a day, a 12 hour curve will be performed. If the dog is recieving insulin once a day, a 24 hour curve will be used. Ideally, the curve will gradually drop after the administration of insulin and then rise close to the original height before the next dose.
The direct object is dog (They gave dog).
I wouldn't suggest it just becasue its not ment for dogs and it is unknown about the healthy dosages a dog can ingest to help its problem. But if infact your dog is allergic to something reactin can help. If your dog accidently ingests reactin you don't have to worry to much depending on the amount it ate. Just keep an eye on your dog and he/she should be ok.
He killed his dog
Heidi realised how much responsibility a dog can be so he gave her to a close friend.
