It's probably best to leave it alone. If it's in your house, of course, and you want to get rid of it, you can buy a live trap, catch it, and release it a few miles from your house. (It has to be more than a mile, or it will come right back.) Don't try to make wild mice into pets, though. A mouse that hasn't been held and socialized from a very young age will probably never be truly tame.

If you do not wish to live with a wild mouse you can catch it with a humane trap and set it free away from your home, perferably in a wooded area. To be sure to discourage mice you can grow/sprinkle/burn plants from the mint family, as mice hate this smell.

The way to tell is you may hear squeaking, or your elecritical appliences may not work properly, (this means the mouse has chewed through the wires!) And you might even see him if you're lucky. Seeing mouse droppings is another sign, they look like little smooth rainsins. Eeew. If you like the mouse try to catch it. But you can catch diseases easily by handling wild mice. There are too many to type.

But you can also keep baby mice even if they're wild and help them; generally you let them go later on in their life, as they live longer in the wild and may try to escape anyway. Make sure your cage is fullproof, as mice can to excessive damage to your house! :)

Peace out.

You can find 'humane traps' for mice in a pet store.

Just ask someone who works at the pet shop to show you where they keep them. (Look on the box/bag on how to use them)

No these traps do not kill the mouse, they just trap them, you can re-open the door later and set it free if you would like.

Set up a few of these around your house, and you should have your mouse back in it's cage after a day or two.
