But if it was outside school grounds o r not related to school then if it was a family or friend tell a trusted adult if your a child or teen.
If your an adult then why would you care about a fight that went on you have nothing to worry about. Well unless it was a really really really rough fight and the police got involved then dont talk about it.

I get the feeling that some important information is missing from this question. What kind of "fight?" How involved (or non-involved) was this "witness?" Sued by the family for WHAT? If a person died as the result of a "fight" it sounds more like it might have been an "assault," which would be a criminal matter.
