You make sure that the TV is set to the same as the PS3 is plugged into. You do not want the TV to be on the wrong setting to receive the PS3 signal from the A/V Cable you connected and the back of the TV will identify what you plugged the cable into. It should also say in and not out. You hold the Power button down for two beeps (while PS3 is off): Reset video to lowest settings.
