Once you have the library slip from the Mordred Museum (use the gold coin from the fountain and look in the book stacks), you can access the secret passage to the castle dungeon. In the library, go to the "non-fiction" section, Mc-M, and press the scroll.
There are also two books you can read. They are informative but not essential. One is "The Mystical Weapons of Arturus" (which you get to do battle when in space) and the other is Mordred's Journal, which is missing an important page.
