Typically, howling (H key) will trigger the final 'cutscene' and end the game.
Be sure you're standing in the marked area with all members of your pack present to continue, or else you will not be able to end the game!
Sometimes, your mate will run to the nearest carcass to salvage some food, so give him/her a chance to return before howling! ;)
