You can't force a hen to set eggs. Certain breeds take to becoming broody more readily than others. Cochin and Silkie hens will brood well, but at their own pace. You can add eggs from other hens if you find a brood hen has started a small clutch.
Usually you can look for an egg. Hens announce the arrival of an egg by putting up a loud fuss for about 5 minutes after the event. They will also make this same noise when they are disturbed by a predator or another hen.
Well, this may be qualified as muttering. if it's just a little low and quiet "ee...ee...ee", then that just means they're trying to talk to other guinea pigs or show that they are calm, happy, and or comfortable!

Most likely it is air rushing past the closed intake butterfly, it may be sticking or carboned up a bit, try cleaning with some carb cleaner. If it is a little farther away from the intake it could just be a belt chirping because it is a bit loose.
If you do not have a incubator or other birds you can raise the bird egg. Other types of birds will not raise a different type of bird egg. If you dont have a incubator you will need to go to a local pet store and buy a bird nest (clean, or used) Next you place the egg in the nest and put it in a warm place at home. A bird cage will be best of all. Wait until it hatches. Next go in your yard and dig up some natural pink and small earth worms. When you have the worms make a churp with your mouth and hold the worm upwords to the baby birds mouth. After about 3 weeks continue this process. On the 4-5 week make sure this bird can fly and let it go. The bird might be used to humans feeding it so you can have a tamed/wild bird in your home!
