You might need to clarify a bit. If you mean he lied during a sermon that might need to be addressed with the Priest of that Parish. If though, he just lied to you or someone you know, he is human. Just as you and the Catholic Priest fall short so does he. Many people lie on occasion and hopefully this man will confess and repent as a good Catholic should.

The Priests and Deacons have a beautiful and special role in the world but they are human and sin. The Catholic Priest scandal is a perfect example of this. The rate of abuse in other Churches is just as high. The rate in schools is higher and in the family where you are suppose to be loved and trust everyone the rate is sky high. Not to say the Catholic Church is without fault, it is just everywhere. Back in the 70's/80's when the abuse took place (abuse since the 80's is almost nonexistent) it was common practice to send abuser to counseling for help (this is everywhere). This was wrong but all the same, it was what was recommended. The Catholic Church is infallible, meaning it is incapable of error. The people in it though are sinners, the Priests and Deacons.

Hope this helped.

In deacons' meetings non-deacons can be there. The visitors should be allowed to speak if it is moved, seconded and voted on by the deacons. They should not be allowed to vote on decisions if it is not address in the constitution and by laws of the church. Robert's Rules of Order came to be from the baptist church so they should be followed when making binding decisions.
