Do you have a toothache? It's essential to know what's the reason for your pain. From there, you can decide how to relieve either tooth pain, swelling, or any other symptoms.

A home remedy like regular saltwater rinse and cold compress application can help minor irritation, but severe toothaches may need to consult a dentist.

A toothache is painful, especially at night. It can make staying asleep very difficult.

Several remedies may help people find relief, including taking pain relievers or applying a cold compress, or even cloves to the tooth.

It may not apply to everyone but it did to me, I had toothache for a couple of days and couldn't sleep as it was so bad so after a few days I went to a dentist and got an emergancy appointment. They looked at my teeth and i had the start of an absest so they took care of that and had to take part of my nerve out as it was infected so that absolutely killed so then i went on high pain killers and rested so that really helped but I have to go back soon and either have that tooth pulled out or have a root-canal. But if you have toothache i suggest going to the dentist because it could get worse.

Over the counter medications are available in drug stores/pharmacies and chemists. Oragel is one such product.

Oil of clove on a swab is know for soothing the pain . If anti inflammatory analgesics are available, aspirin or ibuprofen work as temporary relief. If nothing else is available, warm non sweetened alcohol such as vodka or whiskey (not rum) held in the mouth will dull the ache especially if used often in rapid succession and in large quantities.

See a dentist ASAP.
