It's usually best to put the drops in both eyes. If you accidentally infect the other eye, which is very common, then using the drops in both eyes will prevent an infection in the other eye.

I don't see why not, but if your eyes are bothering you, you should try to put your solution in instead. The solution would act as eye drops. I've tried it before to help with irritation and it works just as well.

It is possible there is something in the eye. Go to a store that sells pet products and get eye drops. Put in the drops and the item in the eye will most likely be washed out with the drops. If not, take it to the vet.

"Fresh water" the kind that comes from the tap has additives such as Fluorides. Eye drops are basically sterile water. Water alone is irritating to the eye. Tears are composed of water and salt so the eye drops that do not hurt, contain saline.

if you scratched your cornea then the eye doctor would take a picture of your eye then they would put some drops in your eye. then the doc. will put on contact lenses in the eye and give drops to take home and tell you to come back in 2 days to take it out
