Firstly eject any CD/DVD in the computer and take out any usb memory sticks or Ipods etc. Then restart the computer and see if the problem persists. If it does, then open up the computer and make sure the HD is properly connected. Restart the computer and see what happens. If its still not working try booting into Linux and work from there.
The operating system tells your personal computer how to function. The operating system tells the computer how to interact with the keyboard, the monitor, the modem, and just about everything else the computer does. Your central processing unit does whatever the program tells it to do. Then it comes to a point where the program tells it to send something to the printer. It says to the operating system, "Take this to the printer." Then the operating system takes it to the printer.
You take your OS installer disc(s) and boot your computer from it. (On a Mac, you hit the power button then hold down the "c" key while your computer starts. It will take a while. Do not let the "c" key go until you get a window with instructions on it.) The disc should give you a few options. One should be something like "install operating system." Just follow the instructions. While you're there, run any disc utility that you may have to detect any damage to your computer.
it cannot find the operating system, your hard drive is probably failing, download the diagnostic software from the manufacturer of your hard drive and burn it to a CD or DVD and boot your computer with the CD or DVD in the drive, be sure to set your bios to boot from your optical drive first (CD drive), if it fails you will need to replace it and reinstall your operating system (probably windows in your case), I suggest that you bring it to a technician if you are not too technically inclined !
Main program to control the whole computer is a system software, also called operating system. But to understand what any single device says a system software needs small program called a device driver, which is particular for each single device. A device without a driver driver can't properly work with a computer.
Only if your operating system says "server" in the name.
OS not supported means that the software does not work with your current operating system. You may be able to update your operating system to the latest version or you may have to buy a new version of the operating system. If the latter you need to ensure that your computer is going to be able to handle the new operating system as older computers will have a slower processor, less memory etc. which may not suffice.
The processor's speed depends on the processor, not the operating system. To view your computer system's properties (processor's specifications among other things) go to "my computer." There you should see something that says "System Properties" or something to that effect (I can't remember exactly what it says on vista, since I use Windows 7 now). Hope that helps!
That means that there is no hard drive installed, or that it does not have a working operating system on it. The BIOS is prompting you to insert a bootable CD to install an operating system or run a repair utility.
Make sure the CD drive is the first boot device in the BIOS.
Find it.
cannot use the OS x disk and need to reset this mac book pro password
A computer hardware driver is an interface between a piece of hardware and the operating system (Windows XP in this instance). As a hardware driver requires a high degree of control, the operating system is basically asking you to confirm that you are aware of installing such software and that you believe that the provider is trustworthy.
