2 choices: First, you've placed a wrong formated Disc into the unit, or a CD instead of a DVD... Second, the unit doesn't have a Disc installed, or it's just "dead" and can't read any Formated Discs...

If the movies are already on your drive, and you can't play them with your resident players, you will probably have to use the "advertised" player. When at a website from which you want to download a movie, it's a good idea to try and play it from that website. If you are prompted to download a particular player to view the movie, it's up to you how you want to proceed. Divx is one exception, in that it is free and many web movies use that format. The latest version (ver 7) only supports XP+ on a Windows machine , but there are older versions available. Try updatedin windowns media player or going into my computer right click on your mp3 player and select open with..
