- The gifts from your ex boyfriend are yours to keep. You can keep them; sell them (if they are worth anything) or give them back to him. Do not be hasty and throw away the gifts and especially the letters. You just never know if you will get back with your ex boyfriend or, at the very least when you are older and have found your true love it would be great to go back and look at those letters. Sometimes in the heat of anger we can throw out things that are a part of our life. People heal from a broken heart. Put your gifts and letters away and forget about them for awhile.
