I'm not sure what type of bird you have, but cooked rice works great for most, cockatiels really love it, give them some celery, or lettuce, maybe a small bit of bread or pasta. Parrots like fruit, but too much will make the cage messy.
This is only a temporary measure, they need proper nutrition and only food made for your bird can give that.

Layer pellets are fine if you run out of quail feed. Millet and sunflower seed are not part of the layer pellet feed and these are preferred by quail. Wild bird food mix would also be appropriate for quail.
