What do you mean by realistic professional ambition?

It means pursuing a profession that you are more likely capable of attaining, rather than one which is less likely, or unrealistic. For example, becoming an airline pilot is more realistic than becoming an astronaut because more airline pilots are needed, and the odds are not stacked so heavily against you. However, it is your choice. Some people would rather try and fail than fail to try.
