You don't need a degree. There is no wedding planning major but there is hospitality management which has to do with working in the hotel (hospitality) industry. Hospitality management, travel/tourism and business or entrepreneurship would be good college majors to choose. Have an interest in other people's weddings, and call up wedding and event planning companies to see if you can intern with them. While you intern, get certified through the wedding planner's association and attend conferences so that you can learn as much as you can about the business.
