Most old printers use a parallel (LPT) interface. Many new computers are not equipped with parallel ports, as it is seen by many as an obsolete interface.

However, it is possible to hook a parallel printer up via USB by using a USB to parallel cable. These range in price from $10 to $30 and can be found at most electronic stores. I will include a few links below where you can buy them online.

Do you need wireless printer if you have wireless computer?

If the printer is connected to another computer via a cable, then you need something for the wireless computer to connect to. It would either have to connect to a wireless router or you could have a wireless card in the other computer and configure the two to talk to each other. But using a router is a far better solution. Then you can setup the printer as shared from the first computer and configure the two comptuers to be in the same workgroup and share it that way.

How network printers works?

Network printing works like normal printing as far as your document is concerned, but the computer does a little more work. Normally, the computer sends the document to a printer physically plugged in to it and it prints. In this case, the printer isn't plugged in, but is instead on the network, usually connected another computer. The computer printing would send the data over the network to the computer hosting the printer as if the printer were plugged in to the local machine.
