Yes, you will need to buy an upgrade copy of Ultimate Edition to do so, or use Windows Anytime Upgrade available from the Microsoft website. Contact Microsoft if you need to know whether you can use upgrade in-place as you will be able to keep all of your files and folders this way.
It can be any version of Windows 7 (Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate) but if you want to keep your stuff buy an 'upgrade' version of the DVD. If your computer has become unstable, or cannot boot into Windows, choose the full install as this will install a fresh copy onto your computer. (Only choose this if you want to wipe all the stuff off your hard drive) but if you do all your stuff will be in a folder called Windows.old I recommend Windows 7 Ultimate but it is the most expensive option. Windows 7 Starter is the cheapest but doesn't have the full features of Ultimate. Most people go for Home Premium. (I've got Windows 7 Ultimate Beta)
Ceratinly. You would need to buy the Win7 upgrade and away you go.
Ultimate is a larger edition than Professional. If you want to downgrade you will need to buy Professional and do a clean install.
you need more than megabytes. you might even need a few gigabytes. but no more than 10GB
You may upgrade to the Win 7 Ultimate with this version. The difference between the Anytime Upgrade and this one is you will need to use the Ultimate CD for upgrading which is included in the Ultimate Retail Box. The Anytime upgrade was a download from Microsoft.
windows 7 ultimate is the best, if you do not need XP mode and different language in windows 7 , win 7 home premium version will be a good choice too
Windows 95 to Windows 98, and then to Windows XP
Well, you will either need to buy the professional edition of windows 7, or use a torrent site to get it.
You can upgrade to from older versions of Windows to the latest like XP to Vista but installed programs will probably be removed and need to be reinstalled, and you need to be careful about the stored information on your computer. P.S. Windows 7 is newer and thus recommended instead of Vista in case you already did not know.
