You should wait at least 2 to 3 days. When you wash your hair, you are rubbing and scratching your scalp. If you immediately put a relaxer in, your scalp will start burning.

Relaxers are very potent to the skin and if you do it wrong you can burn your scalp. When it is applied you are not suppose to put it on your skin just close to it. It really depends on how long you keep the relaxer on your head.For example,I left my relaxer on too long on some parts(mainly in the front) and when I went to go wash it,I didn't get those areas very good.My sister said that my hair had burnt and would develop what I call Relaxer Left-On-Too-Long Bumps.I made the mistake of scratching it and when I felt it,the top of my finger was dabbed in red.It will bleed,so avoid scratching it.You'll be fine,just wash your hair and don't scratch again.
