Yields
The arrow is read as "produces" or "yields."
It reads as "Yields." The equation is set up as (reactants) (Yield Sign) (Products).
the products are on the side with the arrow pointing at them and are divided by a plus sign, and the product is on the side the arrow is not pointin to! SCIENCE SUCKS!!!
If it's pointing right, it can be read as the English phrase "react to form". If it's pointing left, it's "is formed by the reaction of". If it's a double arrow, "is in equilibrium with".
Arrow means creates or yield(s) IE: Na + Cl ---> NaCl Sodium and Chlorine create/yield sodium chloride
It shows that the reactants (on the left side) react and become the products (on the right side) Sometimes, the arrow also signifies that energy is added in some form to cause the reaction. For example: 2H20+2NaCl -------> H2+Cl2+2NaOH
If it is red and has a number in it, then it means that your friend has typed something in for you to read.
'To'. >(Reactant) to (Product)<
read the instructions. --> makes you move forward <-- is backward up arrow is jump and down arrow is crouching down. next time actually read the instructions.
There are two arrows used: --->: The arrow indicates that the chemicals (called the reactants) on the left-hand side react to form the chemicals on the right-hand side (called the products). <--> (or a variant): this arrow means that the two sets of chemicals are in equilibrium, i.e. that the rate of reaction that turns one side into the other is equal to the rate at which they turn back, so that there is no net change in the amount of either set.
