Although a general question, the question you should be asking is "Do I judge this person on my interpretation of previous relationships or do I judge this person on what I see and hear first hand?" Uncle Nate

Yes he has had previous relationships but he is currently single.
Perhaps it may benefit you to talk to his past girlfriends to see what the relationships were like. Doing this could indicate whether the relationships didn't work out because of him, or because of something else. I wouldn't completely throw out the idea of having a relationship with someone solely on the fact that they have been in many previous relationships. It's likely that these other relationships simply didn't work out because he or she hadn't found the right person for them.
Its very simple, she or he just want to know the kind of person you are, because with your last experience story she will be able to know if you are really looking for a date or not?
