According to his long-time friends, he is very friendly. But unless he is at a political event, he prefers small groups and spending time with people he feels close to. (He also very much enjoys spending time with his family.) But people who have met him at political events, or people he has visited in the hospital or worked with on charitable causes, say he is very warm and cordial. Of course, his political adversaries and opponents don't think he is friendly at all, but that's all part of politics. In his personal life, he is very different from when he is being a politician.
