What elements make a good book? wow what a good question!!!
We all have our own take, but this how I feel about this question. Some readers like action, some prefer romance—a little of both. The one thing all readers share is their strong opinions.
For Your Consideration: 6 Elements of a Good Book
So what elements make a good book?
The book should mean something, or at least make you think about something in a new way.
Strong characters. I loathe reading cardboard characters.
Good characters we care about. They can make the most tired or ridiculous plot seem fresh and absorbing.
Well-developed characters that I actually care about, not just flat names.
Besides the usual, a good story should [have] anaerobic element; something to challenge the mind.
Truth about human nature.
A relevant message that speaks to the reader.–Sarah Holman
A happy ending.
A happy ending isn’t as important as a satisfying ending. You can make me cry, but make me glad I read to The End.–Lorna G. Poston
Words
“Good book” is so entirely relative. But I think when it gets right down to it a good book must have meaning behind the action, and action behind the characters. The world must work with the characters and story and vice versa, and the more intense this bond the better. I myself strongly prefer good timing, subtlety, and interwoven foreshadowing, though these aren’t strictly necessary
“The most interesting story is always the story of the writer’s style,”.
A story that is not predictable.
In Summation…
A good book slowly grabs you by the soul without your knowledge. By the time you’re in tears and laughing at the top of your lungs at the same time it’s too late.
Characters! My favorite Science Fiction author is/was Orson Scott Card, whose books always had strong, relatable characters. Anybody who has read "Ender's Game" (Watching the movie doesn't count!) or "Speaker for the Dead" knows this. Card published a small guide to developing characters that helped me immensely! Since I was in my late teens, I have written stories for my own enjoyment, though some of my friends said I should send a couple to a publisher. But, that's not my game.
A good book typically has well-developed characters, a compelling plot, and evocative writing that draws readers in and keeps them engaged. It should also provoke thought or emotion, and offer insight into the human experience.
Every thing which makes a book realistic one . It can be characterization, plot, ending, action, suspense etc. The book is good if we never want to leave it and to finish it because we want to find the ending.
your patience I don't have patience so I can't write a book.

Well it is all about war and it is a good book to read if you don't know much about the war because it really makes you think about some situations.
Giving her a good book
It depends on the age of the person you give it to. I only recommend it for people 12 and up. It is NOT a Girl book. Some people may think that but it is not true. I think it would be a perfect gift for someone in that age range. It makes you want to read the whole thing. The movies are also pretty good, but not nearly as good as the books. Overall, i think this would be a good gift.
It is a matter of opinion, really. In my opinion, I think that the storyline and the characters' personalites make the story enjoyable and makes J.K Rowling's readers keep moving on.
I think it is a good book and I don't think it is racist

It is a form of opinion. While some think it is a great book, others think it was not as good as the other books in the series.
