By electron having low speed, it means when electron travels through a good vacuum with no block of matter nearby thus having less distraction, eg-electron passing through an old fashioned television. But by electron having high speed, it means when electron travels on a rough vacuum and with blocks of matter . So that when they are been extracted from matter, more force are added their by being very fast. Eg-electron comming out of an electron gun. innocent somtoo madonna

What will happen if ions hits atoms at high speed?

When electrons hit atoms at high speed some of the electrons are knocked away or broken off of the atoms. Once this breakage happens after impact, the atom then becomes a positively charged ion.

Is gamma ray similar to high speed electron?

Yes, gamma rays and high-speed electrons are both forms of ionizing radiation that can cause damage to cells. However, gamma rays are photons with very high energy and extremely short wavelengths, while high-speed electrons are charged particles with less penetrating power compared to gamma rays.

Cathode rays are high speed electrons. So they are negatively charged.

What voltage is needed to accelerate electrons to 1.5 times the speed of light in a CRT?

It is not possible to accelerate electrons--or anything else--to the speed of light, much less to 1.5 times the speed of light. Nominal operating voltages for a CRT range from a couple of thousand volts to a few tens of thousands of volts, depending on the application.
