If you trim your rabbit's teeth once do you have to continuously do it?

Yes, if you trim them because they are growing crooked then they will need to be trimmed every couple of weeks. Rabbits are mono-phidonts. This means that their teeth continually grow. If they are straight they meet and keep themselves worn down so there is no need to trim but if they are crooked they will not meet properly and will grow and grow until they are trimmed. If not trimmed they CAN grow thru the roof of the rabbits mouth and into the brain killing it. Rabbits with genetically crooked teeth (buck teeth) should not be bred as they will pass the trait on to the babies.

How much does it cost to get a rabbits teeth filed down?

It all depends on what you vet charges. BUT get used to the idea that it will have to be done EVERY month for the rest of the rabbit's life. It gets VERY expensive. The rabbit should be put down because if you don't clip it's teeth it can't eat and will die anyway. Do not use this rabbit in any breeding program even if you decide to go to the expense of clipping your rabbit's teeth. It is a genetic condition.

Do you need to have care routines for your rabbit?

to a certain extent. it is needed to feed them water, hay and pellets (portions will be on package). it is also necessary to trim their nails i do it about every 2 weeks. rabbit teeth grow continuously so i recommend giving them a toilet paper tube to chew. if your rabbit has longer fur you might want t brush it out but I don't have to. :):):):):):):)):

How much to have a rabbits teeth extracted?

Clipping or filing teeth is a better solution but do not use this rabbit in any breeding program. This is a hereditary trait and a VERY bad one at that. If you extact the teeth the bunny will not be able to eat.
