Kaitlin is from Classical Greece, and means 'pure'.

It is a name given to females.

In its modern form it can be Catherine, Katherine, Cathrin/Kathryn, Cate/Kate/Kit/Kitty/Katty.

From the Irish Gaelic/(Erse) language it is often mispronounced as 'Cate Lyn' when it should be pronounced as 'Kathleen'.
