The carat sytem of diamonds is actually pretty simple. Just think of the carat system like you'd think of the monetary system. Tge carat system is broken into "points." Each "point" is like one penny. 1.00ct (1 carat) is comparable to a dollar ($1). .50ct (1/2 carat) would be comparable to 50 cents. It would follow then, that .25ct would be like 25 cents.
