Both 1 and 2 Chronicles cover the same period of Jewish history as described in the second book of Samuel through to the second book of Kings but the perspective is different. These books come to the story from a different angle. 1 Chronicles begins with the royal line of David and traces the spiritual significance of David's righteous reign.
