How does geography affect Canada's identity?

Geography plays a major role in Canadian identity. We live in North America, neighbouring the United States. On our either side there is ocean and to our north there is no other country that affects us. Being next to the US influences our economy and the products we buy. Canada has a mixed market economy, under the control of a demcoratic government. Being a country with a mixed economy, business owners are able to have freedom in what they Ukranian style hand-painted eggs. The point is that Canada is a multi-cultural country due to where we are located and the time periode that we were founded in. Many immigrants arrived here and made Canada their home. Due to this we are bilingual and multi-cultural. On another note, being in the north gives us cold winters as you should know, and those from other countries generally stereo-type us. My relatives from Australia ask us if we need refrigerators, because the weather is "never warm" or if we live in igloos. People know very little about us as we are located separate from the rest of the world and near only America, which is so big that no attention is payed to Canada. We are known for being very patriotic and polite (possibly due to our sometimes rude neighbours if you want to connect that to geography lol).

The present Canadian flag is the red-and-white 'Maple Leaf' flag. It has two large red borders on each side, with a red maple leaf on a white background in the centre.
