I thought Anne Frank received the diary on her 13 birthday before they went into hiding? She was keeping all of her personal stuff in that one diary which she addressed as "Kitty". When she was 15 they were caught and sent to concentration camps where she died.

Yes she did Recieve her Diary on her 13th Birthday. In her diary at the begining on every entry it says; "My Dearest Kitty" The reason they went into hiding is, The Germans were coming for Margot and Otto Frank realized, If we don't give her up they will come for us all. So they decided to go into hiding. They hid in a Buisness Area Otto had acquired. Miep Gise had brought them food and appliances over them 2 years. Until someone realized that building was deserted and all the windows were boarded up. They starte to break in until a police officer caught him. Then the word got around there were Jews hiding in Amsterdam someone turned them in and forced someone to lead them to them. When they entered the rooms They put everyone in gun point and told them you got 2 minutes to Pack your items. One of the German Officer went through Anne's Things and threw her diary and all her papers onto the floor. They were sent on a train to a work Camp. Then they were split up and sent to a concentration camp. They were stripped naked and there heads shaved. Anne had to take care of Margot, herselve, and her mother. Her mother died shortly of Starvation. Margot died Due to Typhus "Skin disease" It's believe that Anne died 2 days after Margot due to Starvation and Typhus. Cause she did complain of lice and itching alot. The camp was librated "Freed" 2 weeks after Anne died. Otto frank survived and went to Amsterdam where Miep gave him her Diary. It was Published on 1947. 1957 in Englished has been translated to over 60 Languages and has sold over 60 Million Copies. Otto Frank died at the Age of 91.
