On Mercedes-Benz vehicles, CDI stands for "Common Rail Diesel Injection." This technology allows for more efficient fuel injection in diesel engines, resulting in improved performance, reduced emissions, and better fuel economy. CDI engines utilize a common rail system to deliver fuel at high pressure, allowing for precise control over injection timing and quantity.
