i have a theory that every one in charlie browns life is fake his friends aren't real neither is his parents he's actually "dead" in a "limbo" of some sort that's why you cant see or hear his parents and as far as charlie brown being depressed i can see it Mr. Shultz was depressed and used a lot of similarities of him and the character charlie brown
