Christian Science was a new religion created in the new religious movements. It was developed in the 19th century by Mary Baker Eddy and was first described in her book "Science and Health" which came out in 1875. Christian Science believes in the idea that sickness and death are illusions caused by mistaken beliefs. The church encourages people to get the sick to be treated by a special type of prayer intended t correct those beliefs.
