After Bella opens the present from Emmet, Rosalie and Jasper, Alice gives her the small package from her and Edward. Bella accidentally gets a papercut on the present and because of Jasper's lack of control, he is automatically drawn to the blood and tries to attack her. And as usual, Edward protects her from Jasper by pushing her away from his brother, but she lands on a glass table and the it breaks. Then, there is a long gash on her right arm, which Carlisle repairs.

Jasper, (the newest vampire) charged Bella to try to bite her to suck her blood. Edward could tell what Jasper was thinking in his head so Edward pushed Bella and then threw/really pushed Jasper back away from her, because Edward didnt want something bad to happen to Bella.
