It shows us:
- not everybody who hears the gospel will be saved.
- some people will act like christian but are not really
- the gospel (seed) 'grows' best when people (soil) have been prepared to receive it. That is they see they have a need for the gospel - they are sinners and face God's wrath.
- a christian is expected to/should bear fruit.
I think the most important thing for Christians in the parable is that the seed was planted in the soil that was prepared for it. That is where the farmer intended to plant the seed it was only by accident some seed fell on the path and among the rocks. So it is important to prepare people's hearts for the gospel - pre-evangelism - by showing them they have a need for the gospel. With out accepting the gospel they face God's wrath on the day of judgement.
The parable relates how a sower scatters seeds on four different types of soil or ground that are hard, stony, thorny, and good. When seeds fall on the first three soil types, they do not produce fruit. However, the good soil does produce good fruit. In this parable, Jesus is saying that the seed is the word of the kingdom and it bears fruit only in good ground. This ground represents a person that receives and understands the message of the kingdom and allows the message to produce good things in his life.
it teaches us that lots of people may listen to the word of god but only some will take it in and use it for good
Not everybody who hears the word of God will respond to its message.
Not everybody who responds to the word of God will go on to be a mature christian.
People whose hearts are prepared for God's word respond better than people who have not been prepared to receive God's word.
I think the main thing a christian can learn from the parable of the sower ( Matthew 13) is:
the sower intended to sow the seed in the soil he had prepared.
Seed grows well and bears fruit only in prepared soil, the human heart is not naturally good soil for the gospel, no descendant of Adam is naturally inclined toward God.
Many times sowers of the gospel seed do not spend time preparing the hearts and minds of people before they offer the gospel to them the results are often professions, which last only a short time. There is little permanent growth and fruit in the 'christian.'
The heart needs to be prepared to receive the gospel
, people should see that they have a need. One day they will stand before God and will be found guilty. When a person sees that they have no hope of escaping that guilty verdict then they have a need for the gospel
because it wanted to link the earthly world to the heavenly world
The parable of the sower, shows the word of god falls in to many people but all are not ready to hear and keep the word and be saved from it.
well, i myself am a Christian and the answer is he uses parables so it is easier for us humans to understand what he is teaching us
The parable of the sower is in Matthew 13, and Jesus was sitting by the Sea of Galilee when he told it.
parables where ways to explain something in a relatable way. they taught a lesson but in a way that people of there time could grasp the concept. like the parable of the sower. He put the lesson in farming lesson cause people back then understood it. Read matthew 13. Jesus tells you the parable ,the purpose of parables and then explains the parable he just told.
Parables are short stories or anecdotes that teach a moral or spiritual lesson. They are meant to convey deeper truths or insights about life, morality, or spiritual principles in a simple and relatable way. The lessons from parables often require reflection and interpretation to uncover their intended meaning.
parable's
The Christians teach their people the same things that Jesus taught the people around the Mediterranean in 1 A.D., to put it simply. There is a long list of things that Christians teach their people.
Some Christians say this parable is about what a Christian does with the gospel. Its importance to Christians is that a Christian should be a good steward of the gospel. However I think this parable is not primarily about Christians. The first interpretation of this parable is probably: the three servants are Israelites living during the time between Christ's first and second coming to earth. This parable is connected to the previous parable (verses 1-13) by the word 'for'. The parable has to do with the judgment of unsaved Israel at the time of Christ's second coming. Jesus said He came to the lost sheep of Israel and so most of His parables are about Israel not the church. Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
We as Christians have hope after death, as we have salvation.
That is where Jesus began to teach about God's word.
In today's reality this parable can be used to teach christians or the entire religious community that regardless of what they have done against god,he is willing to take them in and to celebrate with him the victory of our lord jesus christ.if you know someone who is walking in the wrong faith, they are the lost sons this parable is talking about.they ought to realize that there is a father who is longing for them and he has all the joy and peace that they need.
They teach people about His Life story and talk about His goodness and mercies
The concept of the parable is that people make excuses for not following Christ with a whole heart and are not useful in the Kingdom of God.
The Parable of the Rich Fool teaches that wealth and material possessions do not bring true happiness or security. It warns against greed, selfishness, and placing value solely on earthly treasures rather than spiritual values and relationships. The parable emphasizes the importance of being rich toward God and focusing on eternal rather than temporary pursuits.
Speaking for Jehovah's Witnesses as Christians; we actually call it a 'com-mission'; or a 'mandate' from Christ Jesus. Our mission is found in Matthew 28:19:20, to witt: "All authority has been given Christ Jesus; THEREFORE - - GO - - Go make disciples of people of all nations; Baptize them; TEACH them all the commands of Jesus." Jesus and the early Christians actually did this, by their house-to-house ministry. There are other mandates also, but the above is Christians MAIN commission. This is the mission of Jehovah's Witnesses as Christians.
