After Romeo kills Tybalt he is exiled from Verona. In order for them to be together, Juliet begs Friar Lawrence for help. Friar Lawrence convinces her to drink a sleeping potion so that she would be presumed dead and laid to rest in the Capulet tomb. He said that he would send word to Romeo to meet her in the tomb so that they could escape Verona together. However, Romeo does not receive the Friar's message and is told that Juliet is dead. He purchases poison and drinks it by Juliet's side. When she wakes up, she finds Romeo dead and proceeds to stab herself.
