Mississippi State Motto
"Virtute et armis"
(By valor and arms)
Adopted in 1894.
Language: Latin
Mississippi's motto is not an official state motto, as such, but has been accepted as an element of the Mississippi coat of arms. Adopted in 1894.
Mississippi's State motto, Virtute Et Armis, meaning by valor and arms, may have been suggested by the motto of Lord Gray De Wilton, Virtute Non Armis Fido.

Motto? What do you mean about motto? If you mean national song, it were written by Adam Oehlenschläge in 1823. If you mean anything else, you have to be more precise.

The question is a bit confusing. Since there is only one state and one river named Mississippi, I can't think of a use for a plural form of the noun. If, for some reason you would have a use for a plural form, it would be two Mississippis. The plural possessive form would be the two Mississippis' border.
