Lb is the interface between BSC and SMLC (Serving Mobile Location Center). In GSM, the Serving Mobile Location Center (SMLC) node is responsible for managing the overall co-ordination and scheduling of resources required to perform positioning of a mobile, and calculating the final location estimate and accuracy. In GSM, a BSS based SMLC supports positioning via signaling on the Lb interface to the BSC serving the target MS. Signalling on this interface uses BSSAP-LE, which is specified in GSM 09.31. See for more info the ETSI recommendation TS 123 002.
MS-DOS was initially released in 1981 for the Intel 8086 and 8088 based processors. There are no software requirements for MS-DOS as it is a stand-alone operating system. MS-DOS is compatible with x86 systems.

A stand alone operating system is a system that is independent of another for example windows 3.1 ,95,98 were all a shell based on the ms-dos operating system to put it in simpler terms windows was a dressed up version of ms-dos with all the bells and whistles to be more appealing to the eye and be more user friendly . later versions of windows were independent of the ms-dos operating system hence they are known as "stand alone operating systems" .
