The descent to Avernus is easy; black nights and days the door is clear of Dis; superasque degree of escape to the air, but he is recalled, this work, here it is too painful. It's in Latin I think.
Latin translation, Mors Patet = death is certain; Ho Ralat (may actually be Hora Latet) Hora Latet = the hour uncertain; Memento Mori = remember, you must die. "mors patet hora latet memento mori" = "death is certain, the hour uncertain, remember you must die.

Although it is sometimes translated "Reach for the Skies", caelum certe patet actually means "the sky at least stands open". These are the words of Daedalus in Ovid's Metamorphoses, Book VIII, when he is contemplating a means of escape from Crete and determines that the sky is the only path open to him:"Terras licet" inquit "et undas obstruat; et caelum certe patet; ibimus illac.""Though he [Minos] may barricade the earth and the waves", he said, "the sky at least stands open; we will go that way."

English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton is widely credited with popularizing the phrase "The pen is mightier than the sword" in his 1839 play "Richelieu; Or the Conspiracy." To say uncle in Lao one must know the relationship of those involved. If your mother is older than your uncle than you call the uncle "Na Bau". If your mother is younger than your uncle than you call your uncle "Loung". If the uncle is on your father's side and younger than your father than you call your uncle "Au". If the uncle is on your father's side and older than your father than you call your uncle "Loung". P.S. There are all kinds. Just this past week I saw what are called Auroral streamers in the sky over Jersey City in early daylight about 6:00 am. They did not last, but were very high in the atmosphere. Do not confuse with Aurora Borealis- there was a mysterious Auroral sighting in l938 in these parts ( Northeastern NJ- NY) one of my aunts saw it and said it resembled a huge theatre curtain festooned with slowly flashing on and off strobe lights. Some people thought it was a message from an Other Intelligence. It did not disrupt communications such as radio or telegraph ( auroras were something of a hazard on, oddly submarine cables!) No explanation for the l938 Aurora was ever offered and it had no connection with the Welles War of the Worlds program. The gates are always open for the traveller, Viatori Patet indeed!
