He stands out from others because he is trustworthy, loyal, he has great wisdom, knowledge, and of coarse because he is the son of Laertes. Also he defeats many and he is a great leader.

He does not have the same kind of loyalty that Odysseus has. However, Odysseus longs for his wife along the journey that he undertakes, but he is more concerned with getting vengeance with the various suitors who had lined up for his wife Penelope's hand in marriage.
