In Greek Mythology, there was a beautiful woman named Pandora. Pandora's downfall was not evilness, but her curiosity. She was given a box by the gods and told to keep it safely, but never to open it. Of course the temptation proved too great for Pandora, who eventually lifted the lid on the box, releasing the beginning of sorrow for mankind. As it turned out, each of the gods had placed evils that plague men such as, suffering sickness, hatred, greed, and mistrust... and all other things that bring unhappiness to man. Pandora tried to close the lid, but it was too late, from the moment she opened the box and set forth its evils, mankind would forever suffer the burdens brought upon him. One bit of good was left in the jar when she closed it, and that was hope.
