South Africa's main export, or what they specialize in, is mainly minerals. To be more specific, they are very well-knwn for their large amount of diamonds and gold. Although, because of their colonialism, the Atlantic Slave Trade, and all of the poverty, the counry still isn't "rich," even though their minerals are valued highly.

I believe that South Africa mainly exports diamonds and gold. Although gold and diamonds are very valuable, the country still doesn't have much money, what with all of the conflict and the Slave Trade.
