The Operations Chief function of emergency management is associated with ICS or the Incident Command System. As for this chief's major responsibilities - those include: Reviewing the current situation and maintaining situational awareness of an incident, aiding in the developing of the IAP or Incident Action Plan, briefing and assigning personnel within the operations section, resource needs and requests, activating and deactivating 'strike teams' and to maintain section logs.
