if you ask someone who isn't living in the U.S, what the white house is they would probably either heard of it or have seen it on T.V. the White House is known all over the world. when there is a scandal with the president or with the American government, the place where the news will shoot to give the society information on this, they would mostly take it at the white house or and the congress.

many presidents have been constatnly living in the white house and this makes it a vaulable fortune for us Americans to hold. many presidents have walked around in the white house. they ate there, selpt there, they have done many things in the life house.

Who thought of the name the White House for the building the White House?

I don't think any one person named it the White House but it came in general use after it was painted white to cover the burn marks left by the British in 1812 when they set it on fire. In the 1800's houses weren't painted because paint was very expensive so to paint a whole house white was unusual and it would stand out. People began to refer to the house as the "white house" because of that fact. In undeveloped Washington DC of 1815 it would really show up.

Why is white used for the White House?

It is called the white house because it is painted white.
