"Wa alaikum salam" is the response given to "Asalamu alaikum" which means "May Peace be upon you". If an individual is given the salams (Asalamu alaikum) one would reply "wa alaikum salam" which means "AND may Peace be upon you". This is the greeting of the Muslims, and it is quoted in The Bible that this was the greeting of Jesus (peace be upon him) to his companions. Jesus is considered one of the prophets of God by Muslims, I mention this because a lot of people don't know that Muslims believe in Jesus, and Moses, and Abraham, Noah, (Peace be upon them all) etc. Hope that answers you question =).
May Peace Be With You Also.
It's a response to As-Salamu Alaykum.
"And peace be upon you" which is a reply to the Muslim greeting As-Salamu Alaykum, which means "Peace be upon you"
