A peninsula a portion of land surrounded by water on three sides that juts from a larger landmass. Examples include Florida, Baja California, and Italy. Peninsulas can be any shape or size. For example, Italy looks like a boot. Florida is more finger-shaped.

The largest Peninsula in the world is the Arabian Peninsula. It includes six countries and part of Iraq.
