What does a air resonator box do?
How do you remove the resonator box from the air intake system on a 2004 Chevy trailblazer 4.2 engine?
Simply unscrew the air intake hose from the resonator box. Then look on all 4 sides of the resonator for some bolts. Use a ratchet with an extension to unscrew the bolts, and it pops right off. Did it on my trailblazer to change thee spark plugs (located underneath the resonator box). Hope this helps!
The Air Intake Resonator box on a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer is located in the middle of the engine; It's marked with the "Vortec 4200" symbol on the top of it and is made of black ABS plastic.
The resonator box is not meant to be opened. It is fused together as there are no serviceable parts inside of it.
There are 2 bolts on the left side of the resonator.
in the trunk
Big plastic thing on top of the engine that says 6.6 air intake resonator
They call it a muffler. Or Catalyst. Or resonator.
It is on the intake air tube facing the firewall close to where the tube joins the Vortec 4200 resonator box. All the answers are at our enthusiasts website ........ www.trailvoy.com
Underneath the resonator box (the black plastic box right before the throttle body). Once the resonator box is removed the spark plugs are located underneath the small rectangular aluminum heat sinks. Remove the long bolt and pull the entire assembly up and out.
The filter lives behind the block - it's easeir that it sounds to get to though. Take off the air intake pipe and resonator box (that the pipe connects to), follow it back and you'll see two clips - these hold the two parts of the airbox together. Unclip the electrical connector and open the box to reveal the air filter.
It's on the back side (closest to the firewall side) of the air intake tube. Just before it goes into the resonator box that says Vortec 4200. www.trailvoy.com All the answers for your Trailblazer at our enthusiasts forum.
The Spark Plugs are located under the resonator box in the center of the engine (its the rectangular black box on top of the engine)

Someone can find The MAF near to the air filter. It's in the tube that carries air to the resonator and throttle body.
I believe it is mounted to the bottom mounting screw of the driver side headlight. There is also one in the resonator box for the exhaust temp. At least, that is where they are on my 2004 Ram 1500 Hemi.
Under the resonator box on the top of the motor. They are under the six individual coil packs.
Whenever a person blows air into, or across an edge of, a woodwind instrument, a resonator within the instrument produces the noise when the air vibrates.
Under the rear of the resonator box at the front of the engine. Just infront of where the butterfly valve for the engine intake.
The resonator is a "muffler" used in the turbocharger plumbing to quiet the turbo noise. The resonator is a "muffler" used in the turbocharger plumbing to quiet the turbo noise.
there on top of the motor under the air box and they have coils over them with one bolt and fins on the coils. I thought there were two bolts on each coil pack? Anyway the box that says "Vortec 4200" is called the resonator box and covers the coils. It is important to remember that there is a fuel pressure vacuum hose attached near the front drivers side of it and the PCV valve… Read More
the plugs are located under your resonator. the resonator is the black box resting on top of the engine and it says 4.2 on it. it is connected to ur intake. u have to loosen the hose clamps on both sides and un screw the two bolts and after un screwing the two bolts u are able to remove resonator. after removing resonator u will see a line of COPS (Coil Over Packs) u must… Read More

A resonator guitar is a subset of the acoustic guitar type. The noise is made by the use of spun metal cones or discs which are called resonator cones. They are quite common.
what is an air box
They are under the air intake resonator. This is the black plastic piece that's sits on the top, center part of your engine.
depending on its design, a resonator will produce anywhere from almost no back pressure, to a mild amount.
The stock air box in a Subaru Forester contains the air filter. To reveal the air filter remove all the screws mounting it to the engine. Proceed to open the air box and replace the air filter. Reinstall the air box to the car.
What you are seeing when you open the hood is not the air box. The air box is attached to the air hose that comes off the bottom of the air chamber, do not try to open the air chamber if you brake it you will have to replace it, so after you loosen the hose clamp off the throttle body and take the 2 10mm. bolts off the front of the air chamber and… Read More
a resonator restricts the sound in your exhaust. removing the resonator will give it a deeper sound. i would suggest changing the entire exhaust system and leaving he resonator off which would make a louder/meaner sound. leaving it on would silence the idle but when you rev it really high it would still be loud.
look for a black box at the back of the engine with pipes running in and out of it. when located , undo the pipes clips from all the pipes connected to the air box and you should then be able to pull the air box out, once you have removed the box undo the screws on top of the air box and then remove the top locating the air filter
Resonator guitars are named so after the cone shaped "resonator" in the body of the guitar. This innovation was invented so too amplify the sound of the acoustic guitar, and early models were almost always made out of steel (The cone that is, the wooden body stayed wooden). Thus the term Steel Resonator came about. Most Steel Resonator Guitars are not electric, however I do know that some companies manufacture electric Steel guitars.
A resonator on any car is to help the muffler keep the exhaust noise level to a minimun.
how much does the resonator in the buick regal 99 cost
With most vehicles it is in the air filter box or the snorkel between the air filter box and the throttle body.
Because the air that is in the full box is being pushed while the other box that is empty has no air at all for it to be heavy.
"Resonator" usually refers to the Exhaust system. A resonator is a piece of tubing that is slightly larger in diameter than the rest of the exhaust pipe. It is usually located after the catalytic converter, and before the muffler. Vehicles can have multiple resonators. They also usually have some sort of sound deadening material inside. The name resonator would lead one to believe it makes the exhaust louder, but it is actually there to reduce… Read More
Air tube leading away from air filter box. Sometimes attached to the top of the air filter box
Resonator delete may produce more rasp, higher exhaust volume and more police attention.
Off air or over the air stations will not require a box.
under the air filter box. under the air filter box.
Air, unless it is an airtight box.
To change the air filter on a C300 unscrew the air box hardware. Remove the clips that hold the box in place and open the box. After all the hardware is removed the air filter will be able to be replaced.
It is built into the MAF sensor-Mass air flow sensor. If you look at the air filter box on engine side you will see a black square plastic box that is on the side of the air filter box and has a round plastic hose on it that then goes to the engine. That would be the air intake hose. The black box that is in the hose with electrical connector on it right beside… Read More
there are three clips on the top of the air box which is conected to the snorkle on the trottle body. Undo the clips lift off the top if the air box and there is the air filter. Pull out the air cleaner and vacum out the loose debris in the air box and replace the air filter................................
On the passenger side of the throttle body, under the air resonator. It has 3 wires connected to it, orange/black, light green and gray.
Air Cleaner as in Cabin Air Cleaner? If you're talking that then its right behind the glove box.
It is in the air intake hose, going from air filter box to engine. It is closer to the air filter box then the engine.
gonna need more info. do you mean does the air temp sensor go near the air box? then yes, or do you mean does the flow over the mass air flow sensor come from the air box? then yes and the arrow points towards the engine(throttle body).
Standing in front of your car with the hood raised , look to the front left and you will see your air box , the mass air fow sensor is located on the bottom of the air box. You will need to remove the air box to get to the sensor .
