Distressed cats may hide in the house and not be out and about. They may miss the litter box or urinate on furniture, most often the owner's bed. If they are in pain, they may stop eating, meow when landing from a jump or change their activity in other ways. One of our cats will attack the other cat when he gets overwhelmed.

If threatened by people, a cat will put its ears back, snarl, growl, raise its fur, and back into a corner. This is no time to try to befriend the cat. Just leave it alone and back away. Let cat calm down. Put out a half can of wet food each day and you will soon have a friend.

They can hunch their backs, puff their tails, put their ears back flat, hiss, growl and strike out with their claws. Also, the pupils of their eyes may dilate.

Why do cats not hump you but dogs do?

Dogs do that to leave their scent, or to show you the're happy. Cats only lick to clean. You see, dirt sticks to there tongue, and so does the cat's hair (that explains hair balls). Cats don't wag their tails when there happy either. Cats only rub on stuff to leave there scent. Hope that answers your questions:)
